The Development Council of the Pomurje Region is the body for coordinating development initiatives and development interests in the region. The tasks of the Development Council are to manage and direct the preparation of the Regional Development Program (RDP), adopt the RDP, conclude agreements for the development of regions, participate in the territorial development dialogue, monitor the implementation of the RDP and agreements for the development of regions, in the field of regional development, cooperation with the regions of other countries and other tasks in accordance with the law. The Development Council of the Pomurje Region consists of 31 members, including 10 representatives of municipalities, 10 representatives of the economy, 5 representatives of non-governmental organizations, 5 representatives of regional development partnerships and 1 representative of the Hungarian ethnic minority. The Development Council of the Pomurje Region 2021-2027 has 5 committees:
- Smart Region Committee
- Green Region Committee
- Committee for the Connected Region
- Committee for Social Region
- Committee for an attractive region

14.09.2023 | Regional development
The Council of the Pomurje Development Region (abbreviated Council of the Region or SR) consists of the mayor/mayors of all 27 municipalities in Pomurje and the president of the Council of the Hungarian Self-governing National Community. It is led by a three-member presidency, consisting of the president and two deputy presidents. The term of office of the president lasts 12 months. The president of the council convenes and leads meetings, directs the work of the council and represents it externally. In case of absence of the president, he is replaced by the first or second deputy. In the year 2023/2024, the Presidency of the SR operates in the composition (confirmed at the 99th regular session of the SR on 13 July 2023):
- President: Franc Horvat, Mayor of Tišina Municipality
- first deputy: Andrej Vrzel, mayor of the Municipality of Sv. Jurij ob Ščavnica
- second deputy: Barbara Ferenčak, mayor of Odranci Municipality

14.09.2023 | Regional development
The regional development network is approved by the development council of the region in accordance with the Rulebook on regional development agencies (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 3/13 and 59/15) and it is designed and managed by RDA. The Pomurje regional development network, which (currently) includes 45 regional institutions, is a form of contractual integration of key development institutions for the realization of the development priorities of the development region and builds on already established forms of cooperation between development actors in the region. The umbrella agreement on the establishment and cooperation in the Pomurje Regional Development Network was signed on February 11, 2014. The tasks of the regional development network are:
- giving development initiatives to the development council of the region,
- coordination in the preparation and implementation of regional projects,
- mutual information of the involved institutions about programs and projects in the region,
- connecting development institutions in the region and across the borders of the region,
- other consulting tasks in the field of development in the region.

04.04.2023 | Development of tourism Puconci
Where do we see the potential of tourism in our municipality? What are the opportunities that tourism in the municipality of Puconci can rely on?
We will answer all these and more questions through the preparation of the Tourism Development Strategy in the municipality of Puconci for the period 2024 – 2030. The chosen developer of the strategy is the Development Agency Sinergija from Moravske Toplice, which will conduct interviews with key stakeholders during the preparation of the strategy, a survey will be prepared for the general public, held public discussions/consultations in the villages, focus groups with associations, primary schools, an analysis of the situation, etc. will be carried out. 3 rich prizes will be drawn among all participating citizens who will take part in the survey for the general public.
You, the citizens, will be involved in all these stages, preparation procedures, and thus contribute to the preparation of a strategically important document, which will not only reveal the tourism potential of the municipality, but also the potential of other areas.
The preparation process began in February 2023 and will be completed in September 2023. We will inform you about all subsequent steps of the implementation via the municipal website and through municipal printed newsletters.

04.04.2023 | Interreg - Demo-EC
The DEMO-EC project was implemented in two phases. The first phase, which lasted from 01.01.2017 to 31.12.2019 and the second phase from 01.01.2020 to 31.12.2021. The project was also successful in the 5th tender of the Interreg Europe program and thus carried out project activities in the period from September 1, 2021 to September 7, 2022. The DEMO-EC project promotes policy learning, transfer of good practices and improvement of policy instruments in partner regions on mobility management. The goal of the project is to promote territorial cooperation and regional development through the exchange of experience, joint implementation of tasks such as: identification of good practices, SWOT analysis, international meetings and development of action plans. Project partners will share methodologies, expertise and political tools for effectively integrating mobility management into city development. The aim of the project is to integrate mobility management into urban development through planning through analysis, exchange and dissemination of good practices to improve the effectiveness of policies in the area of reducing carbon emissions in transport. The intended impact of the project is a positive impact on policies for low-carbon alternatives for transport mobility by supporting cleaner transport modes and systems and by encouraging mobility behaviour.
The goals of the project are:
- Exchange of policy experiences to promote mobility management and increase capacity;
- Identification of strengths, weaknesses and policy options;
- Identify and analyze and make achievable mobility management practices, which consists of different topics relevant to the participating regions such as: behavior change, e-mobility, reducing the use of cars, walking, cycling and public transport.
- Implementation of action plans by project partner regions to influence the addressed policies.
